FISHING REPORT WE 1ST JULY
ROBBIE AND HIS CREW, SUNDAY
Monday’s cancellation meant Saturday was our first day out and Craig and the boys from Leeton were back for their yearly fishing trip. Unfortunately, some of the boys found Gerringong Bowlo hospitality a bit much, showing up a bit worse for wear. The decision for biggest fish was $20 each, with Grot the eventual winner with a bonito he foul-hooked off the bottom. He actually got runner-up with a morwong, $180 worth being in the pool. The fishing was slow to start but as the sun got up, it got better with the boys taking home a good esky full of snapper, flathead, morwong and pigfish. And, they have booked in again for the last weekend in June next year.
Sunday saw Robbie and 4 mates, Ron, Mohammed and 2 no-shows. Again the fishing was slow to start but warmed up with a lot of pigfish, some great snapper and a ripper morwong. Even a couple of flathead. Everyone got a good feed to take home. Unfortunately, the Sou’wester came up causing us to move in close and cancel the whale watching but still, it wasn’t a bad weekend.
Listen to 96.5 Wave FM Saturday and Sunday 6.15am for weekend fishing reports and 2ST.
Also, The Captain is now on 2KY’s Weekender program, 5.15am Sundays.
Until next week,
Cheers, Captain Roscoe TM
